Flint River Fresh hosts seasonal hands-on workshops, specifically geared to community gardens, community orchards, and urban farms in the Good Life City and surrounding communities.
Activities are held partially outside, weather permitting. Come ready to get dirty and build some raised garden beds.
This workshop Covers the benefits of raised bed gardening, which crops grow best in raised beds, and how to maximize the growing space for an abundant harvest. Also, We’ll discuss Options for building materials and sMART Irrigation.

Celebrate Earth Day - Buckets of Compost and Plants Giveaway
Beginning at 2:00 p.m. until supplies run out, residents of Albany and Dougherty County can drive-up, take a bucket, fill it with organic compost, and select a tomato, pepper (hot, sweet, or bell), cucumber, squash, or okra plant to enrich home gardens. Supplies are limited - first come, first served.
