Activities are held partially outside, weather permitting. Come ready to get dirty and build some raised garden beds.

This workshop Covers the benefits of raised bed gardening, which crops grow best in raised beds, and how to maximize the growing space for an abundant harvest. Also, We’ll discuss Options for building materials and sMART Irrigation.

This workshop is focused on the spring growing season. We will walk you through relevant information while demonstrating useful garden techniques. We will talk about what, when, and how we plant our favorite spring crops - arugula, beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, cilantro, collards, kale, lettuce, mustards, onions, peas, potatoes, spinach, strawberries, and turnips.

Beginning at 2:00 p.m. until supplies run out, residents of Albany and Dougherty County can drive-up, take a bucket, fill it with organic compost, and select a tomato, pepper (hot, sweet, or bell), cucumber, squash, or okra plant to enrich home gardens. Supplies are limited - first come, first served.
